Garadice, a band with a truly worldwide reach are coming to Tradoodle Festival to perform alongside our very own TRADOODLE BIG BAND. This is the unmissable finale of Tradoodle Festival 2025!
About Garadice
Garadice is a powerhouse traditional group featuring Eleanor Shanley (vocals), Padraig McGovern (uilleann pipes), Dave Sheridan (flute/accordion), and John McCartin (guitar). Known for their mix of soulful songs and driving tunes, the band brings fresh energy to the tradition while staying rooted in the music of Leitrim and the surrounding region. Their most recent album Sanctuary showcases this perfectly, with powerful songs such as the title track, lively jigs and reels, and guest appearances from some of Ireland’s finest musicians.
The TRADOODLE BIG BAND unites young musicians aged 10–15 from Monaghan, Cavan, and beyond into a lively youth ensemble dedicated to local traditional music.
Under the guidance of the amazing Áine McGeeney from Goitse, the group performs specially arranged versions of traditional and newly composed tunes. This year, Garadice and the TRADOODLE BIG BAND join forces for a very special performance. The music will draw from Garadice’s Sanctuary album alongside brand new compositions written for The Very Curious Céilí, a joyful new show celebrating the fun, magic, and community spirit of traditional music. Expect an evening full of heart, energy, and the meeting of generations on one stage.
Garadice featuring the remarkable talents of Eleanor Shanley, Padraig McGovern, John McCartin, and Dave Sheridan are a phenomenal traáditional ensemble who bring a rich, soulful blend of traditional and contemporary Irish music.
