The One Who Listens

Free event – no booking required.

Have you noticed the wind moving through the trees? The blackbird singing just before bedtime? A tiny snail making its determined journey across the garden path? Or a bumblebee disappearing into the heart of a foxglove?

Maybe someone has.

The One Who Listens is a new large-scale street puppet and musical performance that invites children and grown-ups alike to slow down, pay attention and remember how to truly listen. Created for Tradoodle Festival through a collaboration between puppeteer Thomas Baker, composer Áine McGeeney and children of County Monaghan, this gentle encounter celebrates the quiet wonder of the natural world and reminds us that the most magical moments are never far away.

Perhaps they’re only a hare’s breath away.

The One Who Listens is funded by the Arts Council through the Commissions Award

Performed by Tommy Baker, Sinead Connolly and Eithne Ní Chatháin.
